I have realized that I have a choice in every moment. Being aware is a choice. I still forget now and than but I have learned that it works in this way. How I act and speak has an impact on the others around me, which has an impact on me. Meditation brings a sense of inner peace, which allows me to be more aware of what is going on around me. The 100 Day Warrior made me more sensitive.
13 Questions to Douwe
The 100 Day Warrior has made me a better father and husband. I have become more accepting and I look at things differently. I feel that I have grown closer to my children and my wife. I used to live fast in a fast moving world, nowadays I feel present at the center of my own life.
Decision making has gotten easier, it costs me less effort. And what I said under question 7: what you are able to give comes back to you. I feel younger; not just physically but also internally. I’m 40 but I don’t feel 40. It is not a vanity thing, it is about a feeling of freedom.

I wanted to get physically stronger, and thought that the combination between exercise and different eating and drinking habits would achieve that. The spiritual part was new for me, I didn’t have any experience with meditation and was curious what it would bring me.
My expectations were certainly met!

Noeska & The Power of Vulnerability
We all have a tendency to hide our vulnerability. To overcome that fear we need courage. We need courage to bridge the gap between what we feel and what we show. We cannot expect the world to know us if we don’t reveal what is truly going on inside us. We can’t even expect to know ourselves if we don’t allow ourselves to explore our thoughts, feelings and beliefs. By developing the courage to open up we create connection with self and others. To become this type of courageous man or woman is what I call a warrior.

Bruising My Face And My Ego Simultaneously: 5 Lessons On Failure And Shame
At home I lie down with an ice pack on my head, contemplating what had happened. I feel humbled and humiliated by the big impact that just a bit of fear can have on the outcome of events. At a glance you could argue that only minor mistakes were made. We shot the video, even though I notified the gym a bit too late the resistance that came up was addressed politely, and I almost lifted a badass weight. But if you look deeper and when I become more honest with myself we can see that there are some deep-rooted patterns at work.
Does The Media Mess With Our Minds Too? I Am Afraid So.
In my mind a warrior is somebody with the athletic skills and the body of Cristiano Ronaldo with the wisdom, compassion and charisma of the Dalai Lama. That is a little bit on the unrealistic side. Of course it would be lovely if we would have people like that. But it is also an elitist view that reveals some of the insecurities of the guy who promotes it. Me.
Beating The ‘Cold Cap’ – A Story Of Pain Transformation
A couple of days ago I did one of the most intense and sensitive jobs I ever did. I was asked to help a young woman endure the pain of a ‘cold cap’ treatment. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in two years, which completely suck because it means the […]
