In achieving any goal, success or step forward, the mechanism is exactly the same. The steps you need to take are oftentimes pretty simple. Take the example of losing ten kilograms of surplus body weight. Everybody knows how to do that. The steps are easy enough for everybody to come up with: eat less, in […]
I am one of the aspirant warriors in the 100-day program. In 93 days from now I am going to experience me at my very best. It’s still a wild guess how that feels, but I’m curious enough to pursue until I find out. The past week I have been trying to explain my friends, and anyone who was curious, why I have set out on this journey towards “spiritual and physical transformation”. I think by now I have figured out the answer to this question, and I would like to share it with you.
Just a couple of random things that made me feel happy today:
– I flirted with the barista of the coffee place near to my new work place. And she made me a great cappuccino in return.
– My interior design and branding warriors are helping me with advice how to make my new space into a nice workspace. I feel very grateful for their help.
– My mom helped my pick out curtains (which were approved by the aforementioned design police) and we had fun doing it.
I am receiving very positive feedback from participants who are happy with their trainers. Makes me feel proud of the guys.
In all the shamanic traditions in America, from Canada to Argentina, people call themselves warriors, because they are in a war against the parasite in the mind. That is the real meaning of a warrior. The warrior is one who rebels against the invasion of the parasite. The warrior rebels and declares a war. But to be a warrior doesn’t mean we always win the war; we may win or we may lose, but we always do our best and at least we have a chance to be free again.
Today is a special day for me. Today was “The Departure” of the 100 Day Warrior II. During the first cycle we were with six, now we are with nine aspiring Warriors. And what feels even more special to me: our first session was in my own space. Basic Goodness has it’s own studio for coaching, training and meditation. It is quite a step. It feels so.. grown up!
It is our suffering that makes us cause suffering in others. It is our pain that makes us hurt others. We all want the suffering to stop. Some of us think that the suffering will stop if we all obey Allah, some of us think the suffering will stop if everybody can say what he wants. But regulating our belief systems will not free us from suffering and fear. The only thing we can do is challenge our belief systems. I can’t stop others rejecting me and I can’t stop others rejecting others but perhaps I can grow unto a point where I accept myself wholly and completely.
Every year my first post of the year contains the exercise that I will show you once again. I take a deep breath and start writing down the dreams and intentions that flow from my heart for 5 minutes, without thinking, without rehearsing and without editing afterwards. Afterwards I often peak at last years post and see if there were dreams that came true and dreams that stayed unfulfilled.
Aaaaand.. it’s a wrap! 100 Days of spiritual practice, strenght training and clean food. 6 amazing people took the journey with me. Now we will see if the bonds are strong enough to last and to build upon. I hope so and if I will keep contributing to strengthening those bonds wherever […]
Today is the shortest day of the year and we are at the beginning of a new cycle. In our longest night, our deepest darkness, is where springs our new sparks of hope and our eternal inner fire is rekindled again. Tomorrow we celebrate the rebirth of the sun. Today is also day 99 of the 100 Day Warrior. Tomorrow we celebrate the birth of the warriors; our last day obviously being a new beginning. How beautiful. I didn’t plan it like that on purpose and I am a sucker for such symbolism.
I asked a handful of people from the creative industry to send me questions that they would like to be answered by the participants of the 100 Day Warrior. Out of approximately 30 questions I selected 13 that seem to cover most of the curiosity of most followers. Sanne went first, Esther was the second to answer them, […]
